ABOUT THE PROJECT:
We’re making a (currently untitled) independent documentary about Long Beach Island. This film aims to answer a simple, yet profound question: what is it about LBI that makes it so special? The project will be a kaleidoscopic portrait featuring the stories of community members who have a wide range of experiences and relationships with the island, unpacking the many layers of history and change that have shaped the island into what it is today. LBI has experienced many inflection points of change over its history: COVID, Sandy, development booms, and great storms of decades past. Now, at this current inflection point in LBI’s story, we hope that the collective perspectives offered in this film can help the community understand how to head into the future and take on present-day challenges that affect the way of life here on this island that we know and love so much.
Do you have any great stories, photos, archives, or anything interesting to share that would help tell the story of Long Beach Island?
